The ZTE Axon 7 was a well-received phone that will offered flagship specs at a midrange cost. although at that will point, the phone’s nearly two years old along with many have been wondering when a successor was coming. that will year, ZTE announced they will finally Discharge the Axon 9, along with we right now have a fresh set of leaked specs.
ZTE will be skipping the Axon 8 along with jumping straight to the 9. Before details emerged, many inside the Android community were already excited thanks to ZTE’s handling of the Axon 7. While the Axon 7 had a rough start, ZTE listened to its community along with addressed many of the complaints, including releasing the kernel source code for custom ROM support. Even at two years old, ZTE will be still supporting that will device, with Android Oreo expected in April.
The trust will be that will brand-new device will follow inside the Axon 7’s footprints, along with things are already starting to look that will way. After a recent leak, we right now have a not bad idea of how the Axon 9 will shape up.

Fingerprint Scanner inside the Display
that will year’s CES gave us our first look at a fingerprint scanner embedded inside the display. Instead of using a separate sensor, that will Synaptics-created technology lets you place your finger along the bottom of the display to scan your fingerprint.
While that will technology will be a little slower than a dedicated sensor, the item does allow for smaller bezels. Currently, the only phone with that will technology will be the Vivo X20 Plus UD, which doesn’t have a US Discharge date along with uses midrange specs. Pending the big OEMs announcing implementation, the Axon 9 should be the first flagship device with that will technology.
Following the 2017 trend of 2:1 aspect ratios, the ZTE Axon 9 will be rumored to sport a 2880 x 1440 display. Like its predecessor, the display will use an AMOLED screen, although the size will increase through 5.5″ to 6″.
through the leaked images, the item looks like the Axon 9 will join the modest list of Android smartphones which still include capacitive keys. A majority of devices have eliminated these hardware buttons inside the pursuit of thin bezels, although the item looks ZTE will be bucking that will trend. While the buttons are shrunken, fans of the Axon 7 will have no problem adjusting, as their structure along with placement will be similar.
Currently, ZTE has been vague with the Axon 9’s Discharge date. At the time of that will writing, ZTE has only stated that will the Axon 9 will be released later that will year.
As for pricing, rumors suggest the Axon 9 will follow its predecessor along with be offered at a midrange cost point — at least when compared to current flagship pricing. The ZTE Axon 9 should be priced somewhere between $550 along with $630 dollars. At that will pricing, the item could Again directly compete against the OnePlus 6.
What We Don’t Know
Currently, neither the leaked images nor rumors address the elephant inside the room, the inclusion of a headphone jack. The Axon 7 not only included one although had one of the best 3.5 mm headphone jacks when the item was released two years ago. Its inclusion of a Hi-Fi DAC allowed the item to excel at audio along with top our list of the best midrange phones for music lovers, so the item could be a shame for ZTE to abandon that will feature.
Additionally, there will be no mention of speakers outside of their placement on the back of the phone. One of the main advantages the Axon 7 held over the OnePlus 3 was its audio capability. the item was one of the first phones to offer Dolby Atmos along with provided one the cleanest sounding speakers (a feature only topped by the recently released Razer Phone). Many fans of the Axon series (including myself) trust ZTE continues their focus on audio quality.
While that will will be all we know about the Axon 9 today, we’ll continue to update that will article as brand-new information comes out. Are you excited about the Axon 9? What features do you trust come with the brand-new device? Let us know inside the comment section below.
